Renee Roark Gordon - Oil Painter
Born in 1979 and raised in Marble Hill, MO. Her childhood was typical of most small town, middle class lifestyles.
Even though she had seemingly no influence of art, as a small child, she found herself content for hours either in her room or outside drawing, using an old stump in the yard as an easel. She was always drawing, painting, sculpting, creating, in one form or fashion. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Southeast Missouri State University. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Interior Design. After graduation, she began an apprenticeship in the tattoo industry in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She enjoyed the ideology of her art becoming a part of ones body, living, aging, and dieing. Within one year of her apprenticing, she purchased the business from her tattooing mentor. She then changed the name of the business to Flesh Hound Tattoo Studio, and proceeded to work toward building the reputation that stands behind that name today. Flesh Hound Tattoo Studio became a tattoo establishment unlike any in the area with the main focus being custom art.
She began attending the Cleda Curtis School of Art in Oran, Missouri in 2009, and still attends classes under the teachings of Cleda Curtis-Neal.
She currently lives in Burfordville Missouri where her art studio resides in her home. She diligently paints daily before returning to her tattoo studio. Both of her careers and daily life are devoted to creating art.
